Fasting is not for everyone, but it might be for you!

Who should abstain from fasting?

Our Fasting, Nature Walking and Mindfulness Retreats are not “therapeutic” but rather for well-being, and are, therefore only suitable for people of general good health.

If you are unsure of your health, it is best to consult with your doctor before signing up for one of our retreats. Although we may offer some guidance, it is your sole responsibility to check that your state of health is compatible with your plans to fast.

There are certain conditions where fasting is strictly not recommended:

  • in cases of unexplained sudden weight loss

  • anorexia nervosa or other eating disorders

  • decompensated hyperthyroidism

  • advanced cerebral arteriosclerosis

  • advanced organ deficiencies (kidney, liver, heart)

  • pregnancy or breastfeeding

  • addictions

  • stomach or duodenum ulcers

  • advanced coronary conditions

  • retinal detachment

  • psychosis

  • type 1 or 2 diabetes

  • tumours, cancers

  • multiple sclerosis

  • muscular degeneration

  • tuberculosis

  • nephropathy

  • severe mineral and vitamin deficiencies

  • schizophrenia

  • chronic fatigue with extreme exhaustion

  • children and teens who have not completed their growth
